Tried to relax this weekend after a very stressful week....wasn't feeling my best anyway so doing nothing was good in a way but I wish I could take a year off....just to get back to being healthy again. What a holiday weekend! Everything seem to get moved around from shopping to going to the movies. Finally got new desk chairs from Staples instead of Ikea as there were the same price (5 minute walk vs 1.5 hr TTC trek) - put them together in about 30 minutes \o/. Have screwdriver will build! Me and lady__croft were supposed to go with amdisa to Ikea to get a desk but that didn't pan out because due to stress of late I got information wrong so instead the desk was brought to us because amdisa and her bf rock! Weekend was good more or less. Saturday broke the bank at Ikea getting a $10 lamp plus three $4 bowls and tea towels that were 2/$2. It took lady__croft and I an hour and half to get up to North York by pubic transportation. Weekend agenda to go to the EC....lady__croft is getting the new KOBO e-reader...too much controversy on restriction of downloading books for Canadian customers for Kindle...who wants to buy an e-reader only to find out just because you live in another country you can't buy the digital books you want ( Read more... )

Was out in the sunshine today...strolled barefoot on Sugar Beach and then wandered the Harbourfront through the vendor tents browsing at the clothes and jewelry. There used to be this great Egyptian tent with lovely statues and a Native American custom jeweler who had fantastic turquoise (wish I'd bought stuff back then) but they are long gone ( Read more... )

Monday: Was surprised this am with a gift of a conch shell with hole to blow (.needs sanding tho') from Val my assistant who got it while on vacation in the Bahamas. She rocks all kinds of ways! It's the long weekend...well the start of it anyway even though it's midweek. I've been looking forward to the next four days for some time as I'm burnt out.
